Each region in the UK and Ireland uses a multitude of fish boxes. Scotland and Northern Ireland use mainly 50 kg boxes, nest stack as well as the straight stack Craebox. Other regions also use the 40 kg, 25 kg and 20 kg option. Craemer UK offers something for everyone and is constantly innovating its wide product range to meet latest industry needs. 2014 saw the launch of the first fish box with integrated RFID transponder. This innovative solution is available as 20kg and 40kg box and enables full net-to-plate traceability. Chris Neill, Project Manager Materials Handling at Craemer UK, comments: “With supermarkets and processors increasingly pushing for total traceability of the catch, RFID will become a requirement. Our new fish boxes give customers the flexibility they need to prepare for that future. Particularly significant: there is no need to buy the RFID transponder when buying the box. They are retrofittable at any time.”

The Telford based company recently completed a major expansion of its production and warehousing facilities and Chris Neill is pleased with the result: “Thanks to this step we can now offer improved service.
