Grapes require special care due to their delicate, thin skin and must be handled gently throughout the entire harvesting process. Whether Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris or Sauvignon Blanc: in Rhine-Hesse, the grapes are picked by hand, collected in small picking boxes or buckets and then emptied into pallet boxes for transport to the processing plant. The aim is to maintain the vineyards and to operate in an environmentally friendly way.
The sixth-generation winemaker with values of “clarity, honesty, community and tradition” is “very happy” with the CB3 High. The Craemer box with a height of 1140 mm holds approx. 1000 litres, remains stable, does not deform and is very stable on a rotating forklift. The closed walls also help to collect the juice from burst grapes. The pallet box is optionally available with two open drain ports, as is the SB3.
The pallet boxes CB3 High and SB3 with closed or perforated walls, all with industrial dimensions (1200 x 1000 mm) and a robust runner connection, are moulded in one piece and are therefore extremely durable. With nine feet (optional), they stand securely even on uneven ground or slopes. The family vineyard in southern Styria uses the 790 mm high SB3 pallet box (610 litres capacity) with closed walls. This Demeter winery operates according to organic principles and by implementing a modern circular economy concept. Like the CB3, the SB3 pallet box is made of polyethylene – a material neutral in odour and taste. Both large load carriers are immune to mould and bacteria, shatter-proof as well as extremely impact and shock resistant. The durable boxes are 100 % recyclable.
Depending on the type of the application, other winegrowers also rely on different containers from the Craemer Group for hygienic, gentle grape harvesting, such as the HB3 hygiene box and the ET box.
